Treatment discrimination for depression and anxiety?

On May 28th, Sonia Lupien, Director of the Centre for Studies on Human Stress was interviewed on radio station Radio-Canada Alberta featuring the show, La Croisé, where she discussed the difference between men and women with regards to mental illness. Although the rates of depression and anxiety are twice as high among women than in men, women seem to receive prescription drugs 4 times more often than men. What explains this situation? Should men be treated differently from women?
